Bahía de las Águilas
Tour to the Jaragua National Park in the southwest. Unforgettable experience to visit the white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters near the small fishing village of "La Cueva".
Accessed mainly by boat, this almost three-mile long (4.5km) white sand beach with crystal clear waters provides a striking contrast with the lush greenery of the Bahoruco Mountain Range although both are located within the Jaragua National Park. This is a protected beach and there are no hotels or restaurant there. Turtles nestle by a dry forest, showcasing the same flora and fauna that existed even before the Spanish settlers arrived. It is part of the Jaragua-Bahoruco-Enriquillo Biosphere Reserve that was added to UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves in November 2002.
