Off the beaten track, an hour’s drive east of Montecristi, Playa Buen Hombre is well known amid avid kitesurfers for its white sand stretch, and its on-site kite school teaching you how to ride the intense waves along this wild Atlantic shoreline. Located in a fishing village, you’ll find plenty of shade, as well as casual local seafood restaurants and bars. Only strong swimmers are advised to venture in these waters, as there are multiple currents and sudden dips.
