Hügelige Städte, Bergdörfer und Naturparks bieten Mountainbikern vielfältige Möglichkeiten. In Cabarete organisieren Abenteuer-Reiseveranstalter zahlreiche Biking-Routen im El Choco Nationalpark mit unterschiedlichen Schwierigkeitsgraden. Dazu gehört auch eine intensive und anspruchsvolle 50 km lange Ausdauer-Tour. In der Bergregion im Landesinneren lockt die kurvige, wenig befahrene und von Plantagen gesäumte Tour von Jarabacoa nach Constanza. Sie erkunden sie am besten auf einem Mountainbike. Zur Abkühlung kommen Sie unterwegs vorbei an Flüssen und Wasserfällen. Der Nationalpark Cotubanamá von Bayahíbe ist besonders geheimnisvoll und liegt ganz in der Nähe der weißen Strände der Stadt. Zahlreiche Wege führen zu den Quellwasserhöhlen.

Mountainbikes und die dazu passende Schutzausrüstung sind in großen Ferienorten das ganze Jahr über vorrätig, sie können auch über Veranstalter von Abenteuerreisen gebucht werden.

Dominikanische Republik

Helm anschnallen und ab aufs Rad – los geht’s tief ins Innere der Nationalparks, auf auf Wegen, flankiert von malerischen Höhlen.

Biken Sie durch die idyllischen Täler von Constanza quer durch die Gemüseplantagen. Das Netz der schmalen Landstraßen ist wie geschaffen für Mountainbike-Abenteuer.
Kilometerlange unbefestigte Wege entlang der alten Straße von El Choco und im Nationalpark El Choco machen Cabarete zur idealen Spielwiese für Mountainbiker. Es gibt sogar eine anspruchsvolle 50 km lange Mountainbike-Tour.
Puerto Plata
Barahona ist der ideale Standort für Mountainbike-Abenteuer. In den bergigen Nationalparks mit üppiger Vegetation geht es auf Waldwegen an Höhlen vorbei und auf hügeligen Straßen durch Kaffeeplantagen hindurch.
Erkunden Sie die Wasserfälle der Gegend mit dem Fahrrad. Fahren Sie zum Flussufer-Park La Confluencia, durchstreifen Sie die schönen Stadtviertel und genießen Sie den herrlichen Blick auf die Gipfel der Gebirgskette Cordillera Central.
Der Nationalpark El Choco bietet Natur pur und eignet sich hervorragend für Wanderungen, Mountainbiken, Schwimmen in Süßwasserlagunen und für Höhlenwanderungen. Auf einer Fläche von 78 km² führen Wanderwege durch den dichten tropischen Wald, vorbei an Kakao- und Kaffeebäumen und in Millionen Jahre alte Höhlen.
Puerto Plata
Der Nationalpark Valle Nuevo ist ein Kronjuwel von Constanza und besticht mit hervorragenden Bedingungen für Wanderungen und Vogelbeobachtung. Auf Höhen von über 2 200 m findet man dort über 500 Pflanzenarten, Amphibien und Schmetterlinge. 138 der Pflanzenarten sind ausschließlich in Valle Nuevo heimisch.
Der Wasserfall Aguas Blancas ist mit 83 m der höchste in der Karibik. Er rauscht herab in einen großen jadegrünen Süßwasserpool umgeben von einem Wald aus Kiefern und Magnolia Pallescens. Auf Holzstegen und -plattformen können Sie den Wasserfall aus nächster Nähe bewundern und bis zu den tiefer gelegenen Süßwasserbecken gelangen.

Located on the north coast, directly off the highway in Cabrera, this light blond-sand beach is not what you expect: a river flows so near, it gives the sand a soft, spongy texture, while the sea is a mixture of cool and warm water from one end to the other. Starting September 15, there will be a temporary, free travel assistance plan until December 2020 to all tourists visiting a hotel, that in the event of a positive COVID-19 test while in-country, in addition to emergency coverage includes COVID-19 tests and cost coverage for long-term stay. Likewise, effective September 15, travelers will not be asked for any type of test prior to entering the country, nor will massive tests be carried out upon arrival, but rather random quick tests will be performed.
