Rafting

“You'll be hard-pressed to find a Caribbean island with as much action as the Dominican Republic, due in large part to the country's expansive list of must-visit beaches and jungles. On the Samaná peninsula, the aptly named Playa Bonita has crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkelling and diving – and plenty of palm trees for your classic tropical 'gram. If you prefer green to blue, head to Los Haitises National Park on the island's north-east coast. With its unique limestone rock formations and mangrove forests, the park is easily one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic – and perhaps even the entire Caribbean.” @condenasttraveller

From the moment we arrived in the Dominican Republic, we could see that safety was being taken seriously 🙏🏼. Tourism is the main source of income for The Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, which means they’ve had to get very creative and adapt to the ever changing environment, which they have with flying colors. Luckily, the DR is the definition of a socially distanced getaway 🏖 . In addition to its abundance of outdoor adventures and big beautiful beaches, there are strict protocols the country has put into place to keep every traveler and local safe:
• Social distancing required
• Masks 😷 required
• Mandatory temperature checks upon arrival 🌡
• Free health coverage related to COVID-19* (The ONLY country to do this!!!) Other countries require you to pay for travel insurance. The DR takes care of this for you. That way, in the rare chance you catch Covid, you won’t have to pay exorbitant hotel or hospital fees.
• Random COVID tests upon arrival
• Every passenger must submit a travelers health affidavit, declaring they have not felt any COVID-19 related symptoms in the last 72 hours & provide contact details for the next 30 days.
•
When you’re ready to travel, the Dominican Republic will be #SafeToTravel to. 🤗. #GoDomRep #OpenDR @godomrep #DomRepPartner @scapepark
•
*health coverage is available to travelers arriving on a commercial flight & staying at a hotel in the DR.
