Saint-Domingue

La capitale de la République dominicaine, Saint-Domingue, est également la métropole la plus moderne et dynamique des Caraïbes.

Punta Cana

Avec une des plus longues côtes de sable blanc de la région caribéenne avec pas moins de 48 kilomètres ourlés de palmiers s’élançant vers le ciel – Punta Cana est la terre du repos et de la détente en bordure de mer.

Samaná

Dépassant du littoral nord-est de la République dominicaine et se prélassant dans l’océan, le paradis naturel qu’est la péninsule de Samaná est aussi convoité aujourd’hui qu’il l’était au XVIe siècle. 

Puerto Plata

Berceau du tourisme en République dominicaine, Puerto Plata continue d’avoir un impact important. Son paysage, vaste et spectaculaire, associe mer, montagnes, vallées luxuriantes, rivières et de nombreuses plages.

La Romana

Débordant de richesses naturelles – d’un littoral caribéen digne de figurer sur un poster à des terrains de golf de classe mondiale – La Romana est l’un des premiers choix de destination du pays.

Jarabacoa

Perchée à 529 mètres d’altitude, cette cité pittoresque de villégiature de montagne est un lieu d’évasion favori des citadins venant de Santiago et de Saint-Domingue.

Constanza

Affichant une altitude moyenne de 1 200 mètres, Constanza est la plus haute ville des Caraïbes.

Santiago

Santiago de los Caballeros porte le nom des 30 aristocrates espagnols qui suivirent Colomb et s’établirent ici en 1495.

Montecristi

Joyau du nord-ouest, la province frontalière de Montecristi offre un paysage sauvage et spectaculaire prêt pour des aventures hors des sentiers battus.

Juan Dolio

Située à une heure à l’est de la capitale de Saint-Domingue, et plus proche encore de l’aéroport international Las Américas (SDQ), la station balnéaire cosmopolite de Juan Dolio est une destination simple et calme près de la capitale très fréquentée par la population aisée en quête de détente surtout les week-ends.

Barahona

L’extrême sud-ouest de la République dominicaine, surnommé « El Sur Profundo », est géographiquement retiré des principales destinations touristiques du pays mais ceux qui s’en rapprochent trouveront que l’éloignement a aussi ses bons côtés.

Pedernales

Nichée dans l’extrême sud-ouest de la République dominicaine, bordant Haïti, la province de Pedernales est aussi éloignée que possible.

La Vega

La Vega a pris place dans les guides touristiques en raison des couleurs et des curiosités de son Carnaval qui a lieu chaque dimanche de février.

Boca Chica

Le weekend, les habitants de la ville de Saint-Domingue affluent à  Boca Chica pour profiter de ses eaux turquoise peu profondes. C’est à Boca Chica que l’on va déguster du poisson frit ou des fruits de mer dans l’un des nombreux restaurants avec vue sur mer.

Bonao

A mi-chemin entre Santiago et Saint–Domingue, Bonao est souvent considérée comme une halte pour se restaurer, mais la grande beauté naturelle de ses collines et l’art local en font plutôt une vraie destination.
