February 2, 9, 23 and 27 and March 1 & 8, Bonao carnival is celebrated in the vicinity of the Duarte park. On February 16, there will be no activity due to municipal elections throughout the country. The most attractive character of the Bonao carnival is the « Macarao », which has an animal face. Bonao has 58 groups and troupes that renew their costumes every year, such as Roba la Gallina, Los Indios, Las Vacas, Los Embarraos, Los Dragones, Los Leones, Los Chinos de Bonao and Los Mineros de Falconbridge. There will be concerts with Alá Jazá, Omega el Fuerte, Jossie Esteban, The Big Band Merengue, Fefita la Grande, Eddy Herrera, Kinito Méndez, Peter Cruz, Vicente Pacheco, Kaky Vargas, Monchy Capricho, Miguel Miguel, David Kada, Químico Ultramega, Ciky Vicini, Shadow Blow, Carlitos Wey, Patty M and Karolina RD.
