Bayahíbe est un village fondé par des pêcheurs au XIXe siècle, comme Punta Cana, Puerto Plata et Samaná. Ce sont des destinations reconnues pour pratiquer la pêche sportive du marlin, du barracuda, de la dorade ou coryphène entre autres. La pêche en eau douce est populaire à La Romana et à Río San Juan, on y pêche le brochet ou le thazard bâtard. La pêche à la traîne et en haute mer est abondante le long des récifs de Cabarete et de Sosúa. 

Des tournois de pêche très populaires sont organisés dans les régions de Punta Cana, La Romana et Bayahíbe. Les plages sont animées, on y joue de la musique et les abondantes prises fraîches sont cuisinées sur place. Nous vous conseillons donc de vous rendre dans les coopératives de pêche de ces régions pour en apprendre un peu plus sur les différents modes de pêche traditionnelle.

Punta Cana
Des pêcheurs locaux qui sortent en mer tous les matins pour revenir avec la prise de la journée aux centres de pêche sportive et les guides experts qui accompagnent les visiteurs pour voir les eaux abondantes au large de ces côtes du sud-est, c’est un véritable paradis du pêcheur.
Bayahibe, La Romana
La Romana est une base idéale pour les pêcheurs sportifs. Des excursions de pêche en haute mer ou en rivière sont disponibles toute l’année à partir de la marina, bien que la meilleure époque aille de février à mai pour attraper des marlins, barracudas, thazards, voiliers ou brochets de rivière.

De Bávaro à Cap Cana, lancez votre ligne le long de l’un des littoraux les plus longs de la région caribéenne et attrapez des thazards noirs, mahi-mahi, mérous et marlins, entre autres.

La Playa Cabeza de Toro est populaire auprès des touristes qui se logent dans l’un des centres de villégiature se trouvant sur place. Les eaux tranquilles, telles celles d’une baie, de cet endroit sont également idéales pour faire du snorkeling et pêcher.

Starting September 15, there will be a temporary, free travel assistance plan until December 2020 to all tourists visiting a hotel, that in the event of a positive COVID-19 test while in-country, in addition to emergency coverage includes COVID-19 tests and cost coverage for long-term stay. Likewise, effective September 15, travelers will not be asked for any type of test prior to entering the country, nor will massive tests be carried out upon arrival, but rather random quick tests will be performed.
