Fact: Travel may look different, however our friend @tourdelust is here to share how you can travel safely to Dominican Republic. Read more below about her #safetravel experience from her trip with us last month. For additional tips, head to the link in our bio where you can read her full travel blog. #OpenDR #SafeToTravel. 💙❤️🇩🇴
“Although travel looks different, there are many things the hospitality industry is doing to keep staff and guests safe if you decide you’re ready to travel to Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the National Association of Hotels and Tourism created a unique sanitary bubble strategy that significantly reduces the risk of virus transmission between guests and hotel staff. Within each bubble, teams of hotel employees work for two weeks straight, staying in a designated and segmented area of the hotel. Prior to the start of their shift, employees must present a negative COVID-19 test.

While staying at @clubmedpuntacana I can share that I felt safe throughout my stay! Here are other safety measures they have put in place to keep you safe if you decide to stay at one of their properties:

- Staff must wear masks at all time 😷
- There are temperature checks & hand sanitizer in each area before guests enter
- Lower occupancy
- Abundance of outdoor space for social distancing & only outdoor activities 🏊‍♀‍
- QR code’s for menus
- Free antigen tests provided by the government for guests within 72 hours of departure flight ✈️”

“You'll be hard-pressed to find a Caribbean island with as much action as the Dominican Republic, due in large part to the country's expansive list of must-visit beaches and jungles. On the Samaná peninsula, the aptly named Playa Bonita has crystal-clear waters ideal for snorkelling and diving – and plenty of palm trees for your classic tropical 'gram. If you prefer green to blue, head to Los Haitises National Park on the island's north-east coast. With its unique limestone rock formations and mangrove forests, the park is easily one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic – and perhaps even the entire Caribbean.” @condenasttraveller
