Immersioni e Snorkeling

Oltre alle spiagge eccezionali che si alternano sulla costa lunga più di mille chilometri, la Repubblica Dominicana vanta un ambiente sottomarino altrettanto affascinante: un vero e proprio mondo sommerso, in parte protetto come riserva naturale, con barriere coralline, grotte, resti di galeoni, relitti sommersi e una ricca varietà di fauna marina. Tra i siti di maggiore interesse troviamo la spettacolare parete corallina di 40 metri al largo dell’isola di Catalina e di Saona; la spiaggia incontaminata di Playa Frontón a Las Galeras, dove si possono osservare tartarughe e razze; Cayo Arena, dove praticare lo snorkeling e nuotare tra i pesci variopinti a. I negozi specializzati di attrezzature per snorkeling e immersioni, certificati PADI, sapranno consigliare le migliori avventure subacquee.

Anche se è possibile praticare immersioni tutto l’anno, il periodo migliore è tra giugno e settembre, quando le acque sono più calme e offrono una visibilità ottimale. La temperatura dell’acqua oscilla tutto l’anno tra i 24°C e i 29°C, rendendo così possibile immergersi anche durante l’inverno nordamericano, quando la temperatura si aggira intorno ai 25°C.

La Repubblica Dominicana vanta 1.600 chilometri di costa. Esplora i tesori sottomarini: i coralli variopinti, la fauna marina e persino misteriosi relitti di navi!

 
Cinque grandi formazioni rocciose coralline distribuite su una vasta area di circa 100 metri compongono questo sito d’immersione, ideale per i sub principianti. La barriera parte a circa 5 metri in profondità e raggiunge il suo punto più profondo a quasi 24 metri.

I sommozzatori alle prime armi potranno ammirare la fauna marina che brulica a poca profondità attorno al relitto dell’Atlantic Princess.

I sommozzatori esperti potranno calarsi a 30 metri di profondità fino al relitto di una nave naufragata nel 1998 al largo di Bayahíbe, dove prospera una ricca fauna marina.
