Dominican Republic Ranked Number One in Tourism Revenue | Last week the Central Bank announced Dominican Republic generated $7.17M in tourism revenue in 2017, ranking first among countries in Central America for tourism earnings. In 2017 Dominican Republic welcomed a record-breaking 6,187,542 tourists, which is the fourth most in regard to international tourist arrivals.

New Samaná Bay $100M Property Broke Ground in Dominican Republic | The Luxe Hacienda Samaná Bay project officially began construction last week with a groundbreaking ceremony, in attendance were Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina and Tourism Minister Francisco Javier García. The units are expected to range from cozy studios to two-bedroom condominiums topped with luxurious amenities and ocean views and will generate 250 direct and 400 indirect jobs. www.CaribJournal.com

Premier Latin American Television Show Visited Puerto Plata | From October 23-26 the leading Univision television show “El Gordo y La Flaca” broadcasted live from Independence Park in Puerto Plata. For three consecutive days the show featured Puerto Plata’s culture, gastronomy, history and more to the show 15 million daily viewers worldwide. www.Univision.com

Two Major Events to be Celebrated in Puerto Plata | First, the Masters of the Ocean Festival happening November 24th at Playa Encuentro Cabarete. Guests will celebrate water sports accompanied by live music, competitions and surf classes. The Festival is a preliminary celebration for the 15th edition of Masters of the Ocean Championship which will be happening February 23 till the 28 of 2019.
