See large domesticated fish in their natural habitat as they swarm around the coral gardens in this aquarium off the Grand Paradise Resort in Las Galeras.
The main beach in the fishing village of Las Galeras is often overlooked for its more stunning stretches nearby, and serves as, the main boat taxi departure point to Playa Rincón, Playa Frontón, and Playa Madama. But Las Galeras’s beach is a beautiful white sand stretch that holds its own, good for swims and cold drinks from the small, on site local bar, as well as surfing on its western side where the waves are active. The atmosphere gets livelier at sunset, when the fishermen and the tour boats return at the end of the day, and everyone gathers for dominoes and sundowners. At other times, it’s a quiet beach, lined with a few guesthouses, and a resort on its eastern end.
