One of the most ornate buildings in the city is home to the offices of the DR’s Executive Branch of government. Built of roseate marble, and designed in a neoclassical style by Italian architect Guido D’Alessandro, the gated palace stretches several blocks in the residential neighborhood of Gazcue, over 18,000 square meters (nearly 200,000 feet).
