Fishing & Navigation in Boca Chica

Boca Chica is the main sailing destination in the south of the Dominican Republic; it is home to the Santo Domingo Nautical Club, with its Sailing School open to the general public. Throughout the year, first-class instruction is available, so if you wish to take classes with instructors, we recommend that you book in advance as this is a private club. Boca Chica was the venue for the sailing competitions of the 2003 Pan American Games and the Optimist World Championship in 2011. The Santo Domingo Nautical Club also organizes several international fishing tournaments throughout the year, and the Zar-Par Marina, next to the Nautical Club, provides services to sport fishermen and meets the needs of sailors. Both facilities are located at Playa Andrés, on the western side of Boca Chica beach.
