Museo Alcazar de Colon

A viceregal palace converted into a historical museum, located facing the Plaza de España in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally built between 1511 and 1514 as the residence of Viceroy Don Diego Colón, eldest son of Christopher Columbus, the palace served as the seat of government and the central hub of colonial administration in the New World during the early years of the Spanish conquest.
