Museo Arqueológico Regional Altos de Chavón

Inaugurated in 1981, the Altos de Chavón Regional Archaeological Museum exhibits, preserves, interprets, and promotes the indigenous culture of the island from 4,000 BC to 1502 AD, the year the Higüey chiefdom was subjugated, marking the end of the conquest and the submission of all indigenous peoples of Quisqueya.
